Accessibility statement

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This statement covers the Sitestack web app at app.sitestack.build, including the version that runs inside the iPhone and Android apps, the gate kiosk, and the pages people outside a company open from a link (reply links, certify and invite pages). We want everyone who works on a site to be able to use it, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, a switch, zoom or voice control.

How accessible Sitestack is

Sitestack partially meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA. Most screens meet it. The exceptions are listed below.

  • There is a skip link on every screen, and focus is always visible.
  • Everything can be done with a keyboard, apart from the items under "What is not yet accessible".
  • Errors are announced to screen readers, and forms keep what you typed when something needs fixing.
  • Text meets the contrast ratios in light and dark mode, and screens work from 320 px wide.
  • Pasting is allowed in passwords and two-step codes, so a password manager works.
  • The gate kiosk warns before it resets after being left idle.

What is not yet accessible

These are the parts that do not meet WCAG 2.2 AA today, and what we will do about each. We take one off this list in the same change that fixes it.

  • Photos, Photo page (WCAG 2.5.7). Blurring a face or a number plate on a photo needs a box to be dragged out with a finger or a mouse. What we will do: A tap places a box at that spot, with Bigger, Smaller and arrow buttons (and the arrow keys) to size and move it.
  • Photo page, Snag page (WCAG 2.5.7). Arrows, lines, boxes and measurements on a photo can only be drawn by dragging. What we will do: Tap where the shape starts, then tap where it ends; dragging still works too.
  • Job locations map (WCAG 2.5.7). Moving a corner of a drawn area needs the point to be dragged. What we will do: Tap a point to choose it, then tap its new spot ("Move this point"); Undo stays as it is.
  • Sign a variation, Sign in on site, Checks run (WCAG 2.5.7). Signing needs a signature drawn with a finger or a mouse, so people who use a keyboard, a switch or a screen reader can't sign. What we will do: Add "Type my name instead": a typed name counts as the signature and is recorded as typed. This needs the server and the signed record to say how each signature was given, so it lands with that change.
  • Registers, Money pages, Every screen at 320 px wide (WCAG 1.4.10). The page clips anything wider than the screen instead of letting it scroll, so a wide table at 320 px or 200 percent zoom may be cut off. What we will do: The reflow pass in pnpm a11y:check only measures the page, which the clip keeps at the screen width, so go through each register and money table at 320 px by hand, then give each wide table its own sideways scroll box and keep the page clip.

PDFs and generated files

Reports, registers, permits, RAMS and the other PDFs Sitestack makes are not tagged for screen readers yet. They are real text, not pictures of text, but their reading order and headings may not be announced correctly. If you need one in another form, such as a plain text or Word copy, email us and we will send it.

Tell us about a problem

If something does not work for you, or you need information in another format, email support@sitestack.build. Say which screen it is, what you were trying to do, and the device and assistive technology you use if you can. We will reply within 5 working days.

If you are not happy with our reply, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) on 0808 800 0082 or at equalityadvisoryservice.com.

How we tested

On 29 October 2026 we ran an automated check (axe-core, through pnpm a11y:check) over the main screens at 375 by 812 and 1280 by 800, in light and dark mode, as an admin, manager, operative, subcontractor, consultant and client. It fails on any serious or critical finding. We then went through the screens by keyboard and checked the WCAG 2.2 additions by hand: focus not hidden by sticky bars, dragging alternatives, target size, consistent help, redundant entry and accessible sign in.

The screens covered are sign in and sign up, Today, My items, jobs, snags, photos, the site diary, tasks, drawings, documents, RFIs, permits, checks, inductions and sign in on site, the gate kiosk, roll call, incidents, transmittals, settings, and the reply, certify and invite pages.
